Tech giants with Web2 applications will have difficulty making the transition from Web2 to Web3 because it would require a complete redesign and rewrite of their product. As an analogy, this would be similar to transitioning from flat files to relational databases in the 70s.
Therefore, as startups start to gain market share and market penetration in Web3, tech giants will lag behind and will resort to acquisitions, which means that there will be a big wave of M&As in the space in 3 to 5 years providing exciting exits and liquidity to investors.
